Several people have came to me and notified me of a problem in the save games. They reported an error message saying something like "requested file exceeds limit". I have located the problem that is giving that error. The problem is cause when a game is being saved over a previous game. The browser should automatically delete the previous cookie before writing a new one, but I have found some do not do that. I am currently looking for a way to fix it.

You can avoid this error by removing the cookie file prior to saving a game. Be sure to remove the cookie with just the internet address: "illumia.gamezapoppin.com/v27".

August 2000 - Development News
A new version was planned for today, but when doing some online testing, I found some minor bugs. I am working quickly on fixing these small problems. The update will be delayed. I am planning on releasing it on September 1, 2000.

August 2000 - Bug Found
A new bug was found in the game. The bug concerns Netscape users. The Netscape browser will reload the entire document when a user resizes the window. This will cause the whole game to not function. Before you start the game, get the game window to the size you want and don't resize it after the game has begun. Also, the Netscape layout problem has been solved. I am almost done with the game update. Expect it very soon.

August 2000 - Development News
The game has been progressing nicely. I know the interface is a little sloppy right now, but I am going to fix that real soon. I have taken many hours of my spare time developing a new interface. The only problem now is making the layout compatible with Netscape. It seems like nesting tables in Netscape can cause some strange problems. Look below:

Internet Explorer

Netscape Navigator

I'm looking for a way to fix that problem. Other than that everything is going all right. I will be releasing an update when I get all the graphics ready and laid out correctly. Here are some more screenshots with Internet Explorer:

This has not been a good day. It seems I found another bug while testing the game online. I learn a valuable lesson today. What works on my computer does not necessary work on the internet. (Note to self: do more online testing). Oh well, I went and fixed this problem. Hopefully, there won't be anymore.

August 2000 - Development News
It seem I forgotten to update some of my scripts to version 2.0. Because of the script, you cannot buy anything in the weapon and armor stores. I just fixed the problem. Sorry about that.

August 2000 - Development News
The game has been updated to Beta 2.0. I hope I worked out all the bugs in the script. New features that was added to the game include:

  • Updated the messaging system.
  • Tweaked the game difficulty.
  • Added ability to cast magic during non-combat situations.
  • Added ability to flee from a battle.
  • Treasure chest stay open.
Here are some info on the new battle system. You now sometimes encounter more that one enemy at a time. Fighting one opponent is still the same as before, but when you encounter two enemies, things change. You and your opponent will exchange turns, and note that you will only be able to attack one monster at a time. Each living monster also attack once per turn. When engaging two enemies, you have to option of selecting which one you what to attack. The enemy that is selected is the one with the name underneath them. All actions, attack and charge, will be directed at the selected enemy only. To select which monster you want to target your attacks on, click on them. Once you kill one of your enemy, the comp will automatically select the other one for you. All action will now be directed at your other opponent.
